Its only been since the 1990’s that scientist began to uderstand that our bodies are hard-wired for CBD, with receptors throughout our bodies that respond to Cannabinoids (CBD). This system that coordinates this is called the Endocannabinoid System and ALL humans as well as many animals have this system. Surprisingly it is one of the largest homeostatic systems in the body, with the brain and every major elements containing elements of this system. Cannabinoids are a group of compounds that activate this system. Since all of us have receptors throughout our bodies, we all respond to cannabinoids. This system is responsible for the physical and psychological effects of CBD.
This system plays a crucial roll in regulating a broad range of physiological processes that affect or everyday life experiences. Moods, energy levels, our ambition, chutzpah, immunities, blood pressure, bone density, glucose metabolism are controled by the Endocannabinoid System. It also dictates how we experience pain, stress, hunger, emotions and much more.
If this system doesn’t function correctly the results are simple….disease. Science is now discovering how endocannabinoid system is regulated in nearly all pathological conditions.
CBD has a very wide range of influence on receptor systems in the brain and the body. It is currently thought CBD appears to direct the body to use more of its own naturally-produces cannabinoids.
